Gaylord Michigan Works

The Gaylord Michigan Works office in Gaylord, Michigan, is located in northern Michigan in a town with less than four thousand residents. However, it serves the need of jobless residents in a number of nearby communities, including Boyne Falls, Boyne City, Vanderbilt, Wolverine, Lewiston, Johannesburg, Treetops Village and Alba, among others. While it is possible to file your claim for unemployment compensation benefits from your own home (click here to access the UIA online services) by telephone or online, the unemployment office in Gaylord lets you talk to a real live person who can answer questions and help resolve specific problems that you have an opportunity to explain. The staff can also help you file using their office phones and computer kiosks. The computers can even be used for food stamp filings, searching job banks and e-mailing resumes and job applications.

When you arrive, you may have to take a number. When you reach the counter, be ready with the information needed to file, including the work termination date, all employer names and addresses in the last eighteen months, your Social Security and Driver's License numbers, and the total amount you earned in the last quarter of your employment.

The office doors open at 8:30 A.M. in the morning, and 9:30 A.M. on Thursday. If you want to file your claim or try to your resolve issues over the telephone or online systems, click here for more details.

The unemployment resolution center is at 400 West Main Street in Gaylord, they are open weekdays from 8 AM - 4 PM (except holidays) and are walk in only.
