California's unemployment rate has reportedly dropped to "only" 9.8%, just in time for Christmas 2012. That's sorta like getting a stocking full of coal on Christmas morning. This alleged improvement is largely due to seasonal retail hiring. I say alleged because California's payroll are continuing to dwindle away, even over the month just past. Let's hope for a happier and more prosperous year in 2013.
